Futsal Pitch Lighting Design
1. Brightness & Lux Level of Futsal Field Flood Lamp
The brightness requirement of flood lights depend on the nature of five-a-side soccer pitch. The lux level would be more demanding if the field is designed for holding televised competition. For instance, the lux level required is approx. 800 to 1200 lux for FIFA or other professional matches, and 300 to 400 lux for recreational or training purpose.
How many powers of lights do I need?
To light up a 20 x 40 square meters indoor futsal court for training, we will need (20 x 40) x 300 lux = 240,000 lumens, which is equivalent to around 1500W to 2000W LED lights. If we have a high ceiling, we will need to add extra power. Contact us for free lighting design.
2. Orientation of LED Flood Lights
As we can see from the above figures, there are 3 floodlights on each pole, and they have slightly different orientation (projection angle and direction). This arrangement ensures that the lights are evenly distributed across the entire soccer field. When planning the lights, our lighting designer will figure out the best orientation that delivers the optimal brightness and uniformity for futsal players.
3. HID Lighting Replacement of Futsal Pitch
It is beneficial to replace the metal halide, mercury or halogen flood lights with LED. If we take a look at the above comparison, we will see that the soccer pitch is very dim; nevertheless, there is a huge improvement in brightness and uniformity when using the LED lights to light up the soccer field.
