Buyer’s Tips on LED Stadium Lighting for World Cup

1. Energy efficiency

We can choose sustainable and energy-efficient photometric design to achieve the best lighting standards imposed by FIFA. LED is the best source of lighting when comparing to HPS, halogen or metal halide lights. It is because we need to use extra high power flood lamps to light up the football field if we use the lighting fixtures having poor energy efficiency. LED has high energy efficiency – 7 to 10 times of halogen bulbs. And thus it is more cost-effective to use LED light inside stadium

2. Flicker-free lighting

Full HD and 4K broadcasting are very common nowadays. If the stadium lights do not have anti-flicker technology, significant flicker will be captured under the high speed camera. Our LED flood lamp has the most advanced LED chips that reduce the flicker rate to 0.3%, which is negligible under naked eyes or any slow motion camera.

3. Stable illumination and instant on-off

Another tips for you to select the reliable sports lighting is to ensure the light are durable. Stable illumination means the brightness should be consistent throughout the matches. The brightness of LED light is constant even it is turned on for a month continuously. It is because LED light does not generate heat so much. We can imagine that LED turns 95% energy from power source to light energy while halogen turns 90% into heat energy, which is wasted. The heat generated from the halogen or metal halide spotlight will also affect the audience and football players.

Before the delivery, our LED will go through the rigorous brightness test inside our aging room. We test the flood lamps under the harsh environment such as extreme hot, cool and high humidity environment.

4. Waterproof

Since the lighting fixtures are installed to the stadium ceiling, which is considered as outdoor lighting, we need to ensure that the lamps can work under the inclement weathers such as raining. If they are not waterproof, chances are that they will suddenly go off during the World Cup matches. Our LED products has IP66 rating that is suitable for general outdoor use. In addition, they can be reinforced to IP68 to serve greater protection.
